Do you want to know God Personally?

The Apostle Paul writes in Romans 3 that no one understands or seeks after on their on. So, the fact that you are desiring to know Him means, as Jesus says in John 6, that God is drawing you unto Himself. God is already at work in you to make you His child—so you should be greatly encouraged. Here are six simple things you need to know if you desire to have a strong and healthy relationship with God.

God Loves You

"I am the door; if anyone enters through Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture. "The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly. "I am the good shepherd; the good shepherd lays down His life for the sheep. (Jn. 10:9-11 NAU)

God Wants to Save you

For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Rom. 6:23 NAU) The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance. (2 Pet. 3:9 NAU)

God asks you to Believe In Him

If you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved; for with the heart man believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation. (Rom. 10:9-10 NAU) … as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name, who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God. (Jn. 1:12-13 NAU)

God wants you to Be Baptized

Following the Lord in Baptism is the believer’s first act of obedience. Peter said to them, "Repent, and each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. (Acts 2:38 NAU)

Then Philip opened his mouth, and beginning from this Scripture he preached Jesus to him. As they went along the road they came to some water; and the eunuch said, "Look! Water! What prevents me from being baptized?" And Philip said, "If you believe with all your heart, you may." And he answered and said, "I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God." And he ordered the chariot to stop; and they both went down into the water, Philip as well as the eunuch, and he baptized him. (Acts 8:35-38 NAU)

God longs to Live in RElationship

Now that you have been adopted into God’s family and reconciled to Him there are 3 things to remember. Salvation is entirely God’s work but the quality of your relationship with God is dependent upon you. First, you must remember that relationships are built on conversation so you stay in conversation with God through prayer, reading God’s Word, and meditation.  Take time to read what King David wrote in Psalms 1:1-3. Second, you should live a life of regular consistent worship in community with other believers. (Hebrews 10:23-25) Finally you should be a true disciple, a follower of Jesus Christ, sharing the gospel of God’s glory and grace.

"You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt has become tasteless, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled under foot by men. "You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden; nor does anyone light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on the lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. "Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.(Matt. 5:13-16 NAU)

Never forget what Christ has done, and who you are

He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. (2 Cor. 5:21 NAU)

When you were dead in your transgressions and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He made you alive together with Him, having forgiven us all our transgressions, having canceled out the certificate of debt consisting of decrees against us, which was hostile to us; and He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross. (Col. 2:13-14 NAU)

But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in our transgressions, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up with Him, and seated us with Him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, so that in the ages to come He might show the surpassing riches of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them. (Eph. 2:4-10 NAU)

Our salvation is secure but the quality of our fellowship and relationship with the Lord is directly connected to us this is why the Bible encourages us saying that if we will draw close to God, He will draw close to us.
